Brunei Energy Hub - Dermaga Diraja
The Brunei Energy Hub Dermaga Diraja was once the Royal Custom and Excise Building, a heritage building with a colonial flat-roof and boxy form of Rafflesia style, has now been transformed into an interactive oil and gas museum.

The design elements of the project included preserving and displaying the original H.H. Custom House signage and louvres, the installation of a replica of the signage outside with backlighting, and choosing a suitable glass tint to showcase the original louvres.
Despite challenges such as minimal data on the original building’s materials and colours, the design team
executed solutions involving eco-friendly and sustainable materials such as low-E glass to ensure the building’s
structural integrity while preserving its original design and characteristics. The client of the project was the Department of Museums, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, with Kingsmen, Singapore as our collaborator.
