ROYAL REGALIA: GALERI WAWASAN (Design & Build)
Museum & Exhbition Gallery | Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam | Completed in 2017
ABOUT PROJECT
HIAS Design was privileged to contribute to the creation of a new gallery at the Royal Regalia Museum, developed to commemorate five decades of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah’s reign and the milestones achieved throughout this remarkable period in Brunei Darussalam’s history.
Designed as an immersive journey through the past and present, the gallery introduces a contemporary exhibition experience through a carefully considered combination of lighting, expansive display showcases, digital screens, and interactive motion-sector elements.
Through the integration of heritage and technology, HIAS Design created an environment that preserves the significance of the collection while offering visitors a contemporary way to experience and appreciate Brunei’s history.
The spatial experience guides visitors through significant moments from the beginning of His Majesty’s reign to the present day, combining historical narratives with modern exhibition technology to create a gallery that is both informative and engaging. At the heart of the exhibition are significant ceremonial objects associated with the Coronation and official State functions. Presented within carefully designed displays, these pieces embody the authority, tradition and cultural heritage of the Sultanate.
